Program Operations Plan
It’s important to us that our families feel fully informed and confident when entrusting us with their children. We have made extensive changes to our program to accommodate new health and safety regulations while still maintaining a fun and enriching experience for your child. Please read the information below, and if you have a question that isn’t included here, feel free to reach out to us today.

What are we doing to ensure the Health and Safety of our Children and Staff during the Pandemic?
PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION
To minimize contact between families, drop-off/ pick-up will be completed on a first come, first serve basis. One family at a time can be at my door for a maximum of 5-10 minutes at time to allow for screening and daily updates. If a family is already at my door, then another arriving family must wait in their vehicle until that family has gotten back into their vehicle. For pick-ups, families must call or text from the driveway so that we can get their child(ren) ready to meet them at the door. No adults will be allowed to enter the childcare space.
PARENT COMMUNICATION
All new protocols will be emailed and/or texted to each family within our care, requesting a response and acknowledgement email in return.
All contact information for each family will be recorded on their individual attendance sheet.
In case of exposure or illness during the day, communication will be completed via text with a follow-up phone call, if necessary.
All staff will wear a mask during daycare hours. Parents must wear a mask at drop-off and pick-up as social distancing cannot occur. Children over the age of 3 will wear a mask if parents or guardians consent at times when social distancing is not possible. We have an available supply of cloth washable toddler and preschool sized masks as well as disposable masks.
After screening, we will assist the child in washing hands or using hand sanitizer (age appropriate), before allowing the child to play in the childcare space.
In order to protect my child care space from the spread of coronavirus,we have arranged our space using multiple barriers (expandable gates, securely mounted shelves, and various furniture) to separate children to give them individual play spaces, toys, art supplies, etc.
Hands will be washed or sanitizer used during these occurrences:
(1) Upon entry into and exit from program space;
(2) When coming in to the program space from outside activities;
(3) Before and after eating;
(4) After sneezing, coughing or nose blowing;
(5) After toileting and diapering;
(6) Before handling food;
(7) After touching or cleaning surfaces that may be contaminated;
(8) After using any shared equipment like toys, computer keyboards, mouse, climbing walls;
(9) After assisting children with handwashing;
(10) Before and after administration of medication;
(11) Before entering vehicles used for transportation of children;
(12) After contact with facemask or cloth face covering; and
(13) Before and after changes of gloves.
Gloves will be used when appropriate and at all times during the following activities:

(1) Diapering;
(2) Food preparation;
(3) Screening activities requiring contact; and
(4) Applying sunscreen.

All individuals working in Teachable Moments Family Childcare have complied with all BRC requirements and have been deemed with a suitable determination.
